Several creeks mainly in northern portions of the county came out of their banks. Basements flooded in the Howland Township area. Several roads were impassable including OH 193.

Description of the property

small Greek Revival Brownwoodis atwo-story Federal-style farm mansion with nearby/law office. ages, which are not a part of this National Register application. The house is composed of the main, two-story section, a nearly-contemporary side addition to the south, and a rear two-story addition of later date, probably about 1870. is well-handled and contributes to the overall grace of the facade, in which elliptical patera. The door, located to one side, is enhanced by a semi- executed woodwork, including the original mantels, remains intact. Classic furniture (19 pieces) and furnishings, made by local cabinetmaker William Tygart between 1830 and 1840 in Sheraton forms, were presented in 1970 to the Western Reserve Historical Museum, Cleveland.
CONDITION Excellent Good Ruins Both buildings are of mortise and tenon frame construction.The house is elliptical fanlight. Original Site The interior of Brownwood is as well-preserved as the exterior.Finely- The exterior of the main part and south wing are in a nearly pristine Fair condition.The front facade of the main house is three-bay, arcaded and immediately south of the common in North Bloomfield.The house lot is Immediately to the southeast of the house are farm buildings of various partially enclosed by a regular ashlar and picket fence of some antiquity.
